In a similar way, Satan offers his own "Golden Shackles". He has an ingenious way of providing people with just enough worldly lifestyle that keeps them enticed so that they don't want to change to something that is more spiritually healthy. So, people become attached to what they know rather than giving up their spiritual "Golden Shackles" for something more rewarding and fulfilling - the lifestyle of Jesus (cf. John 17:20-21).
