The Lord's humbled . . . John A. Reeves
Currently, I am working on my next article entitled "Forgiveness". This is a topic that is probably relevant with most of us. I hope it is useful in your walk with Christ.

Being above reproach does not mean to be "perfect". In fact, to believe a person is, or should be, perfect/sinless is a delusion brought about by legalism. Yet, an elder/shepherd is to be "above reproach". An accusation does not mean guilty. An error of judgement does not mean disfellowship or condemnation. An irresponsible act does not mean humiliation. However, if an elder/shepherd is living a lifestyle opposite of Christ and refuses to repent then he not above reproach. He needs to repent and live for godliness in Christ. If his lifestyle changes then praise God. If not . . . then keep studying. Shouldn't all Christians be above reproach? The Lords humbled . . . John A. Reeves If you want to know what type of parent a child has just go to the mall on the weekend. I am saddened that parents let their young girls and boys be "watched" by no one.
In the minutes we were there we saw two girls having a slap fight in the street. We saw boys dancing for the girls. We saw young kids behaving like they were married and in the bedroom. We saw girls wearing clothes that prostitutes would wear. And we saw a lot of kids just waiting to be picked up by the parents who used the mall as a baby sitter. Does your town or city have this problem? It probably does. Mine did even when I was a young kid. Check scripture about the importance of teaching godliness to the young and helping others (especially parents) be humble in everything before the Lord. The Lord's humbled John A. Reeves Parents train up your children . . . (Where is this scripture found?) I have updated the resource section of this website. I hope it proves helpful. God bless and stay humbled before the Lord.
I will be uploading a new article soon "Arguing Against Arguments". It is an evangelistic message. It is about spreading the gospel of Christ to a Muslim. I hope you enjoy it and use it as encouragement that God's word is sure fruitful when the soil is right.
The Lords humbled . . . John A. Reeves Whether war, religion, neighbors, or working relationships, people continue to challenge one another - and not in a positive way.
Have you ever dealt with someone who seems like they could be your best friend to find out that they have no true desire to be such a person. Ouch. Painful and annoying. Yet, to live life afraid of such a person is defeating. I find that people who live this way usually shoot themselves in the foot in respect to people relationships. I find that people who choose to live this way become more lonely as time goes on. They are to be pitied - not feared. To be the Lord's humbled is to be one who trusts in their relationship with God to get them through their rela I wondered, when I was young, why Paul would invite Timothy to drink wine "for the stomach's sake". It was uncommon, in my family, to be around drinking. In fact, I was often under the impression that drinking alchohol was wrong.
I've learned that wine can be made with varying degrees of alchohol - even in biblical times. (Drunkenness is the lifestyle that is damnable - not drinking wine by itself). Now, I've been to countries where the water is bad. In fact, certain countries prefer bottled water (or beer) to tap water because the quality of tap water is in question. So, if Timothy was getting sick off the tap water (and was uncomfortable about drinking alchohol with meals; especially, around drunks) then Paul was helping him see the medicinal qualities of some alchohol - for the stomachs sake. However, I believe that some wine might have helped calm Timothy down because of the stress that he had working with people. People, almost by nature, become stressed and cause stress. Have you ever worked with people, anywhere, and not had stress (worked with any type - A personality types out there). My favorite stress people (just kidding) are controllers who would rather cause other people stress rather than look at their own issues. Anyway, stress is a large issue with people. I don't recommend drinking at all. But I do recommend learning to deal with stressors properly. Be the Lord's humbled . . . John A. Reeves I have heard the statement, "Jesus is your savior but He may not be your Lord." I believe I understand the reasoning behind this thought but it is definately not a biblical thought. It's a crock thought.
If you choose to follow Jesus as your savior you also agree to make Him your Lord and King. Obedience is necessary when you are a servant of the King. If Jesus is your Savior, remember He is also your Lord. The Lord's humbled . . . John A. Reeves Godliness and ungodliness do not happen by accident.
Whose are you? The Lord's humbled . . . John A. Reeves It's almost the end of another year. Yet, for you, it may be about the beginning of a lifetime. In fact, the Bible refers to coming "into" Christ as a birth - a new creation. To go "into" something means you are first outside.
Imagine a circle. To go "into" a circle means that you first need to pass the barrier of the circle, thereby, coming inside of its perimeter. This is basic gramatical structure/syntax of the English language. Yet, it is no diferrent than the Kione Greek language the New Testament was written in. All lanuage has structure. Look it up. Don't be afraid. A person comes "into" Christ when they are touched by the blood of Christ at baptism "into" Jesus. This is how God has structured His being born again.
