In our family study, Mark 5 taught us about Jesus dealing with the demon entity(ies) called Legion.

Jesus removed these demons from the man.
Jesus did not fear the demons.
Jesus talked with the demons.
Jesus was feared by the demons.
Jesus allowed them to go to the pigs.
Jesus healed the demonic man.

What demon is there that will not bow to Jesus?  What demon do we have to fear if Jesus is leading our way?

"You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires.  He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him.  When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.  But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me.  Which one of you convicts me of sin?  If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me?  Whoever is of God hears the words of God.  The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God" (John 8:44-47).

Jesus called the Devil, ". . . the father of lies" (John 8:44).  I don't know about you but this is not something I would like posted on my resume.  Do you know people who lie?  How does it make you feel?  How comfortable are you with those people?  My question to you is, if the Devil is the father of lies, what does that make those who lie as a lifestyle?

Children of lies only do what their father teaches.  Jesus is teaching that those who don't follow Him have to follow someone.  Jesus wants people to understand that if they don't follow Christ then they absolutely follow the Devil.

My question to you is, who is your father?

God said this to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job" (Job 1:8)?

According to the account, Satan has the ability to speak with God.  And, keeping with the treachery of Satan, he continually attempts to test God's wherewithall by basically saying that certain people only like Him because He protects them.  (Cheep shot).

Ouch.  What a slap in the face.  What a challenge to God.  But God is not detered.  He shows Satan and all the witnesses of Heaven that an imperfect man; like Job, will love Him (God) regarless of what happens to him in this life.

Have you ever asked God why something "negative" is happening in your life?  I have.  Job's friends did.  But the reality is we, like Job, don't know for sure whether something "negative" is happening to us because of the corrupt world we live in or because Satan is challeging God.

Like Job, not only are we loved by God, we are also His servants.  And as servants we serve the needs of our Lord and Master - God.

So, as a Kingdom servant, if you've ever gone throught challenging times remember God may be saying to Satan, "Have you consider my servant __________?"  (fill in the blank with your name)

May you see the love of the Lord toward you daily.
